What began as a search for healing evolved into a lifelong mission to ensure that no family walks through grief unseen, unheard, or unsupported.
Dr. Massmann earned her PhD in Advanced Studies in Human Behavioral, where her research focused on posttraumatic growth following stillbirth. She is a Fellow in Thanatology (FT), abd an International Partnership for Perinatal Excellence Certified Provider (IPPE-C),
As a clinician, researcher, author, and international speaker, Dr. Massmann is passionate about advancing evidence-informed, compassionate bereavement care. Her work explores the intersection of grief, trauma, attachment, continuing bonds, and meaning-making following perinatal and infant loss. Drawing from both lived experience and extensive clinical and research expertise, Dr. Massmann advocates for approaches that honor grief as a natural human experience while thoughtfully recognizing when additional mental health intervention is warranted. Her work emphasizes compassionate, person-centered care that preserves dignity, strengthens resilience, and supports healing without pathologizing bereavement. Dr. Massmann remains committed to transforming bereavement care, advancing the science of grief, and equipping healthcare and mental health professionals with practical, evidence-based strategies to compassionately support families navigating profound loss.
