It started as a normal, routine pregnancy to welcome our 4th child into the family, but quickly changed when the doctor couldn’t find a heartbeat at the 34 week prenatal appointment. It was ultimately determined that Elena passed away a few days prior, most likely on Easter Sunday.
After hearing the devastating news, we went to the hospital to deliver the most beautiful little stillborn. Holding her and saying goodbye was excruciating, but the hardest part was telling her siblings (ages 5 and younger) that Elena went to heaven. That look of pure devastation when it clicked and they fully comprehended what happened to Elena will be ingrained in our minds forever.
Elena, you are loved and cherished beyond compare, and you will forever live in our hearts. We love you.
