The Northern Idaho Chapter of Star Legacy Foundation was established in 2023. It is located in Coeur d’Alene and supports the surrounding Bonner County and Kootenai County areas. We are a team of individuals who are passionate about supporting families and medical professionals regarding all aspects of perinatal loss, including miscarriage, stillbirth, ectopic pregnancy, infertility, neonatal death, prematurity, and other circumstances.
We hope to provide a resource that is desperately needed in our community for parents and families who have gone through loss and the future families that will, unfortunately, experience this loss in the hope of showing them they are not alone. We will help honor and remember their babies who have died along with the families’ lifelong journey of healing. Our chapter is 100% volunteer-run, and we are always looking for new team members, volunteers, and donations from local families and businesses. Since stillborn babies tragically do not receive a Birth Certificate, many states offer a Certificate of Stillbirth or a Certificate of Birth Resulting in Stillbirth (this includes Idaho). Learn more about how to obtain a certificate for your baby/babies by clicking the link above.
Idaho has a few important pieces of legislation including a stillbirth tax credit and paid family leave to include stillbirth. If you would like to learn more about how to help pass these bills, please complete our volunteer form.

My name is Tierra Gelhausen and I live in Northern Idaho with my husband, Gavin, and our two living children, Alivia and Nash. I volunteer my time in honor of my first and second pregnancies. An ectopic TFMR in 2019, Layota, and for my firstborn son, Summit, who was stillborn in 2020.
My name is Amber Lenze and I live in North Idaho with my husband, Joshua, and my living daughter, Annie. My son, Gabriel, was stillborn on November 26, 2022 at 38+ weeks. I hope to honor Gabriel by providing resources to other loss families in my community through Star Legacy.

The Pregnancy Research Project is a research study bringing together patients and researchers to advance knowledge and discover preventions and treatments for poor pregnancy outcomes. Please consider giving the gift of data and becoming a participant.
Our Stillbirth Scorecards take the CDC stillbirth data and organizes it into a one page document you can share to raise awareness about the stillbirth crisis.
