Sarah Rodriguez joined Star Legacy Foundation as Research & Education Coordinator in July of 2025.  She holds a Bachelor’s Degree, Master’s degree, and a Doctorate in Nursing Practice from St. Catherine University in St. Paul, MN.  Her certifications include Maternal Newborn Nursing, Nursing Professional Development and the International Partnership for Perinatal Excellence.  Most recently Sarah was Director of Preceptor Programs and Nursing Clinical Placements for the Minneapolis Veterans Administration Hospital.   As a former postpartum nurse, she has seen the effects of pregnancy loss on women and their families. Sarah also experienced two miscarriages, both at 13 weeks gestation. Neither could be explained, and she learned after these experiences how many people she knew had also experienced loss. She always wondered what could be done to help those suffering loss. Sarah currently lives in Florida with her husband Tony. Their oldest son Patrick is a recent Purdue University industrial engineering graduate living in Raleigh, NC and their youngest, Enrique, is at the United States Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs, CO.  Sarah and Tony are both proud USAF Veterans.
